Last week, the man who has now identified himself as Deathstrike attacked the Newplex Wrestling GM, Kurt Angle. The reason for the attack is still unknown. On this edition of Newplex Wrestling, Angle will go face to face with Deathstrike to demand answers. Also, Xavier Woods will represent The New Day when he goes one-on-one with Bullet Club member, ‘The Cleaner’ Kenny Omega.
The night kicks off with the introduction of the Newplex General Manager making his way to the ring. Kurt Angle receives a thunderous ovation from the Newplex crowd as he enters the ring. Angle immediately grabs a microphone and begins to talk…
Following Kurt Angle’s promo, the masked figure now known as Deathstrike, makes his slow entrance towards the ring. Deathstrike enters the ring to an ironic chorus of “YOU SUCK” chants.
Deathstrike enters the ring and goes face-to-face with Kurt Angle. With no surprise, Deathstrike smashes Kurt Angle in the face with a wreckless head-butt. Angle falls to the floor, as blood begins to pour down his face.
Again, Angle is unable to retaliate. Deathstrike leaves the ring while Angle looks on with pure rage.
In the main event, for the first time ever, the Newplex Wrestling fans will witness the clash of a Bullet Club member, and a member of The New Day. The theme song of the Bullet Club begins to play, and out walks Kenny Omega who is accompanied by Adam Cole, and the Newplex World Champion Cody Rhodes.
Kenny Omega receives a strong reaction as he performs his signature in-ring pose, while the other Bullet Club members noticeably receive a more mixed reaction. As Cody Rhodes poses on the turnbuckle, Kenny Omega stares at the championship belt that Cody raises above his head. Cody attempts to grab a microphone, but to the delight of the Newplex fans is interrupted by the New Day’s theme song.
The New Day enter to a thunderous ovation from the crowd who chant loudly, “NEW DAY ROCKS, NEW DAY ROCKS”. The match starts off hot as immediately Xavier Woods plays defence. Omega dominates the first five minutes of the match – using his strength to overpower Woods.
The tide changes as Woods rolls out of the way of Omega’s second-rope moonsault. Woods regains some momentum as he strikes Omega with hard hitting forearm blows which Omega is unable to block. Woods rolls out of the ring signalling for his signature springboard elbow but Cody Rhodes gets up onto the apron.
Cody distracts Xavier Woods and the referee’s attention, but unintentionally opens the opportunity for Kofi Kingston to hit Omega with ‘Francesca 2’! Woods capitalises on Bullet Clubs mistake and rolls up Omega, “1… 2… 3” and Xavier wins! New Day members celebrate in the ring as members of the Bullet Club walk away in frustration.
On the ramp an argument breaks out between Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes. Cody Rhodes gets in the face of Omega, telling him “up your game Kenny, this is real life not a god damn video game”. Omega pushes Cody away and walks away up the ramp.
As members of The New Day, the lights of the arena begin to darken. At the corner of the ring, smoke begins to surround the ring steps and a hooded figure appears. The hooded figure begins to speak…
The arena lights darken once again, when they come back on, the mysterious cloaked figure is nowhere to be seen. Only the dark smoke remains. Once again, an episode of Newplex Wrestling ends with even more questions that need answering. What will happen when tensions between Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes reach boiling point? And just who is ‘The Chosen One’?
