NXW #3

26th March 2017

In 1981, Ric Flair defeated Dusty Rhodes to win his first World Heavyweight Championship. In 1998, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin defeated Shawn Michaels to win his first World Heavyweight Championship. These two men would go on to become Hall of Famers. Winning a World Championship can change a wrestler’s career and cement their legacy. Tonight, the rising star of Newplex Wrestling will go one on one with the ‘American Nightmare’ to determine the first ever Newplex World Champion.

Before the championship bout can begin, Newplex Wrestling backstage reporter Danny Deuce makes a huge announcement.

Cody Rhodes enters the ring to a very mixed reaction. Half of the Newplex fans are decked out in Bullet Club merchandise, while the other half are wearing the merch of ‘The Rising Star’ Jads!

Jads enters to a stronger reaction from the Newplex Wrestling fans, while they sing along to his theme song. Jads enters the ring during his entrance but Cody Rhodes refuses to make way, instead staring a hole through ‘The Rising Star’.

For the first time ever, the GLORIOUS Newplex World Championship is revealed.

The referee holds up the belt for the live audience to see, and shows it to both competitors. Before the bell rings, the referee asks both men to shake hands. To the surprise of many, Cody shakes the hand of Jads. During the hand shake Cody tells Jads “I’ve got this”. The bell rings, and the match begins.

The ‘American Nightmare’ dominates Jads during the opening moments of the match. Cody covers Jads for the fifth time following an Alabama slam, but once again Jads is able to get his shoulder up. Cody attempts a springboard aerial attack but Cody is caught with a mid-air RKO from Jads!

Jads crawls towards the lifeless body of Cody Rhodes and covers him. The referee counts the pin: “1… 2…”, but Cody Rhodes kicks out!

The referee checks on Jads as he begins to make it to his feet. The referee then proceeds to check on Cody Rhodes who looks to be in a bad way as he crawls towards the corner of the ring.

Then from out of nowhere, Cody’s fellow Bullet Club member Adam Cole delivers a devastating ‘super kick’ to the head of Jads while the referee is not looking. Cole dives under the ropes and hides outside the ring.

Cody covers the lifeless Jads and the referee counts: “1… 2… 3!” In disrespectful fashion, Cody Rhodes is crowned the first ever, Newplex World Champion.

The finals of the Newplex World Championship tournament end with Cody Rhodes standing tall as the first ever Newplex World Champion, and the arrival of Bullet Club in Newplex Wrestling.

What will happen next time? Will more members of Bullet Club arrive in Newplex Wrestling?! Who’s going to be the Newplex General Manager?! And how will Jads react to being screwed out of the Newplex World Championship?
