NXW #16: New Divide
30th July 2018
This special edition of Newplex Wrestling is dedicated to the lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, who sadly passed away in 2017.
In this special edition, the Newplex Wrestling roster will attempt to fly higher than ever before to prove they are the best at what they do. Championships will be decided, promotions will clash, and former friends will look to eliminate one another.
Newplex Wrestling presents New Divide.
The PPV kicks off with the entrance theme of the Bullet Club ‘Brusierweight’ playing throughout the arena. However, Dunne’s entrance is met with the arrival of Newplex agent, Scott Hall.
Following the entrance of the debuting Neville, the crowd are ecstatic. The referee calls for the bell, and both men size each other up before throwing offensive strikes.
The crowd are on the edge of their seats, as Dunne is able to kick out of Neville’s attempted pin following a corkscrew moonsault, and a reverse 450 splash.
Neville realises that he hasn’t done enough thus far, and decides to scale to the top rope while Dunne lies in wait.
Neville rightfully celebrates inside the ring, and raises the UK title above his head. Though the UK title is not company property of Newplex Wrestling, the fans still rightfully applaud the crowning of a new champion.
After the UK title match finishes, a video on the titantron begins to play.
The video teases the arrival of the self-proclaimed ‘Pride of America’, but the identity of the superstar is not revealed.
Following a video teasing the arrival of ‘The Pride of America’, the ring announcer enters the ring. He announces the following contest which will be the first ever ‘League of Champions’ ladder match. The match will feature the Newplex RISE champion King Baz, the World Class champion Dolph Ziggler, and the ECW World Champion Goldberg.
The bell rings, and King Baz and Dolph Ziggler immediately leave the ring to grab a ladder to start the match. While the ECW Champion Goldberg stands in the ring, and awaits his opponents.
The fans erupt as Goldberg takes out both King Baz and Dolph Ziggler with spears. Goldberg then grabs a ladder, sets it up, and slowly begins to climb.
The crowd explode as the veteran champion Goldberg retrieves the briefcase from above the ring after knocking King Baz off the top of the ladder. Goldberg lifts the briefcase high above his head, and is announced as the first ever ‘League of Champions’ ladder match winner.
King Baz flips out at ringside, as he looks up at the victorious Goldberg.
The next match that is announced, is a one-on-one match between The ‘Ass Kickin Machine’ EC3 and ‘Lionheart’ Chris Jericho mto determine the number 1 contender for the Newplex RISE championship.
Both men enter to a popular reaction from the live crowd, though Jericho receives the louder reaction out of the two.
Animosity between the two wrestlers erupts immediately, as their brawl is immediately taken outside of the squared circle, where EC3 drops Jericho back first on the ground.
Both renter the ring, and begin to trade signature offence. First, Jericho delivers his signature running bulldog, but moments later EC3 responds by nailing Jericho with the signature fireman’s carry into a cutter which he likes to call a ‘TK3’.
The match eventually reaches its breaking point, as Jericho takes a weapon out of his old school arsenal, and delivers the ‘Lionsault’.
Following the ‘Lionsault’, Jericho taunts EC3 who eventually makes it to a standing position. EC3 is then immediately dropped again, as Jericho hits a ‘Codebreaker’ and pins EC3. Jericho’s hands are raised, and is announced as the NO.1 contender for the Newplex Rise championship.
However, following Jericho’s victory, the Newplex RISE Champion appears at ringside.
The crowd boo loudly towards the Newplex RISE champion, who celebrates as if he just won the world title following his beat down on Chris Jericho.
King Baz finally leaves the ring, and Jericho is escorted backstage by the ring crew before the next match is announced.
The ring announcer announces the next match, which will be determined when one man his left standing, and the other is unable to meet the count of 10.
Kenny Omega receives a huge reaction from the Newplex crowd, and the commentators mention the intensity that Omega has unleashed following his exit from the Bullet Club. However Cody Rhodes is met with loud boos from the live crowd upon entering.
Both men make no effort to put on an entertaining wrestling display, and instead just brawl throughout the arena!
Omega lays Cody out with a one-winged angel in the ring, but signals to the crowd that he is not finished. Omega drags the body of Cody towards the announce table, and drives Cody through the table with a second one-winged angel! The referee counts to 10, and Omega is announced as the winner, and the last man standing.
Following the last man standing match, the ring announcer announces the following contest, and main event which will feature the chaotic mercenary Deathstrike, taking on Jads, for the Newplex world championship.
The menacing Deathstrike is met with “YOU SUCK” chants from the live crowd, whereas the fans give the World Champion Jads an enormous cheer upon entering.
As soon as the bell is rung, both men charge at each other like raging bulls, and make no effort to start the match off slow.
The fans erupt as Jads attempts to pin Deathstrike after a massive power bomb, but Deathstrike isn’t done yet, and kicks out at 2.
After being power bombed into the mat, Deathstrike rolls outside the ring to escape the offence of Jads.
Deathstrike falls hard to the floor outside after his face is driven into the steel ring post by the champion!
Jads rolls the beaten body of Deathstrike back in the ring, but as Jads attempts a suplex, Deathstrike reverses, and chop blocks the champion to his knees.
After nailing a ‘Buzzsaw Kick’ on the champion, Deathstrike makes his way to the apron, seemingly to hit his signature springboard clothesline.
After countering Deathstrikes second clothesline into a ‘Starstruck’, the champion successfully pins Deathstrike for the count of 3!
The champion celebrates his win, but his celebration is met with a chaotic surprise in the form of the ‘Chosen One’ and the ‘Dark Assassin’ Tryda.
New Divide ends with Jads lying lifeless in the ring, as the ‘Chosen One’ and the ‘Dark Assassin’ Tryda bow at the feet of their leader Deathstrike.
